Amber Watson was born and raised in the coastal city of Gloucester, MA. She attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA, majoring in English and completing an honors thesis in poetry, after which she began a career in publishing. For the past decade, she’s called Durham, NC home with her family of humans and rescue animals. She is currently a freelance writer, owner of an award-winning local restaurant news blog, and a foster/adoptive parent. She won the Craven Arts Council’s 2022 Ekphrastic Poetry Contest and is a member and volunteer with the North Carolina Poetry Society. Amber’s work appears in journals such as 3Elements Review, Up the Staircase Quarterly, Ligeia, Constellations, Halfway Down the Stairs, and others.
